What size are comic book pages?

Most people assume that comics are drawn on 8.5" x 11"paper but this is not true. The standard size sheet for comic illustrations in North America is 11" x 17". The paper is larger than the actual comic pages so that the artist can create in a larger format. Final pages are scanned and reduced to printed size.
