Katie Cook created original artwork for the
covers of the new 200 Series Sequential Art Bristols.

Katie Cook is a professional illustrator, cartoonist and comic artist working out of the Ann Arbor, Michigan area. She graduated from the College for Creative Studies in 2004 with a BFA in illustration, her love of cartooning and comics has led her to where she is today.

Katie has done licensed and comic work for DC, Marvel, Star Wars, HEROES, Lord of the Rings, and more. She loves being a nerd and being able to draw nerdy things for a living is like a dream come true.

"I use Strathmore® smooth bristol for every project that comes my way. The smooth surface takes ink beautifully and my underlying pencils erase away without smudging or tearing any of the paper. The bristol is also a really bright white, which gives everything great contrast and an automatic vibrancy. The board can take all kinds of artistic abuse, like marker, watercolor, gouache and colored pencil and still stay intact, which is rare for illustration paper that's not mounted to a board. It's pretty hefty stuff! I really love this bristol and can go through an entire pad of the 9" x 12" board in one sitting just sketching out ideas!"

David Petersen created original artwork for the
covers of the new 300 Series Sequential Art Bristols.

David Petersen was born in 1977. His artistic career soon followed. A steady diet of cartoons, comics, and tree climbing fed his imagination and is what still inspires his work today. He is the creator of the Mouse Guard series and is excited to be working on projects he dearly loves doing. David was the 2007 Russ Manning Award recipient for Most Promising Newcomer and in 2008, won the Eisner for Best Publication for Kids (Mouse Guard Fall 1152 and Mouse Guard Winter 1152) and Best Graphic Album - Reprint (Mouse Guard Fall 1152 Hardcover). David and his wife Julia reside in Michigan with their dog Autumn.

"Strathmore® offers everything I need in a bristol paper: a consistently smooth surface that can handle a nib of a pen or a pool of ink. And all at an affordable price."

Tommy Castillo created original artwork for the
covers of the new 500 Series Sequential Art surfaces.

With a career spanning eighteen years, Tommy is well lauded and sought after for his dark humor, brilliant attention to detail, and his love of the more gothic side of art. Tommy has put paint and pencil to such comic and graphic novel titles as: Batman Detective; Legends of the Dark Knight; Toetags, with Horror legend George Romero; Evil Ernie; Tales From the Crypt; Alice in Wonderland and King Kong. Tommy has also written and illustrated his own book; Dragons, Myths, and Mayhem which is considered one of the best of its genre. This body of work led him to also be an integral part of various storyboards and designs for films and dark fantasy based literature.

Being critically acclaimed as one of today's shining lights in the field of comics and fine art has not changed the fact that Tommy is still a big kid at heart. Even though, he renders some of the scariest books of today, the guy will get as giddy as a schoolboy on a snow day at the sight of a Muppet. You gotta love that.
