Kelly Foss

Kelly Foss

Kelly is a realism artist living in New York City. Born in Georgia, she lived in New Mexico, Vermont, Texas, and Hawaii before finally making New York home. Moving throughout childhood with an artist mother, grew Kelly’s appreciation of various art communities and cultures. Before pursuing serious academic study, Kelly managed art galleries.

Kelly studied old masters’ methods for 4+ years, drawing and oil painting from life. Nowadays she specializes in portraiture and figurative art, sometimes mixing impressionism or whimsy in with her realism.

In Kelly’s free time, she paints in Central Park with friends. The Metropolitan Museum of Art has allowed Kelly to paint in the museum, making master copies of John Singer Sargent’s “Madame X”, “The Wyndham Sisters”, and Edwin Austen Abbey’s “King Leer”. Online, Kelly has taught drawing. In Manhattan, she has taught painting and drawing at the historic National Art Club, The Institute of Classical Architecture and Art, as well as the Arts Students League. Along with loving her city, Kelly loves to travel! Especially for the sake of teaching an art workshop!
